U16 Championship:
Edenderry 2-18 0-11 Rhode.............................................
Edenderry U16's had a great thirteen point win over neighbours Rhode on Monday night. The reds done much of the damage in the first half racking up a whopping 2-9 0-3 lead at the interval.
Lee Hyland opened the scoring with a goal after three minutes and in the sixth minute Rhode scored the first of their three points.
Alex Kenny, Jordan Hayes, Ciaran Farrell and Lee Hyland all added further points and with fifteen minutes gone the home side held a 1-4 to 0-1 lead. Alex Kenny pointed a free in the seventeenth minute and Conor Farrell and a great solo effort from Daryl O'Connor stretched the reds lead to nine points.
Rhode responded with two points in the twenty second and third minute but Daryl O'Connor and Peter McNamara point for the reds to cancel out them scores. With just two minutes remaining in the first half, Ciaran Farrell blasted the ball to the back of the net to give Edenderry a comfortable twelve point lead at half time.

Rhode started the second half the stronger team and should have had a goal after two minutes had it not been for a fantastic save from Edenderry goalkeeper Cain Brereton who slapped it over for a point. Peter McNamara hit his second in the third minute but Rhode replied with two more scores in the opening ten minutes.
Jordan Hayes registered his second point after eleven minute but Rhode kept plugging away and responded four minutes later. Points from Ciaran Farrell and Jamie O'Connor restored the reds twelve point lead but Rhode again came back with two more points. Late scores from Ciaran Farrell, Alex Kenny(2), Patrick Rickard and Stevie Osborne put the game beyond Rhode's reach but they did have the final say in the thirty second minute with a late point.
