On Saturday next our U16 Football team will travel to Mullingar to take on Northern Gaels (Longford) in the Division 1 Final of the Leinster League. The game will be played on the 3G pitch at St Lomans GAA at 4pm.
This young Reds side have done very well so far this year having beaten St Loman's & Longford Slashers in earlier rounds in close games. Edenderry showed true determination in their final round game against Slashers when they were 2 points down with just minutes to go but ended up with a one point win.
Northern Gaels will provide formidable opposition as they accounted for some of the biggest clubs in Leinster on their way to the final including Summerhill of Meath on a 2-12 to 1-11 scoreline in the semi-final.
The Edenderry squad will be well prepared for the game as they have been in training for the last two months under the watchful eye of experienced coaches Micky Usher, Michael Bryan, Adrian Mullen and John Blong.
The squad in full is:
Jordan Farrell, Craig Mangan, Aaron Moules, Daniel Kane, Jamie O'Connor, Andrew Maloney, Peter McNamara, David Maloney, Lee Hyland, Ross Glynn, Jordan Hayes, Stevie Osbourne, Brian O'Connell , Gareth Burns, Conor Farrell, Simon Williams, Keelan McGlynn, Patrick Rickard Jack Foran, Jack Brady, Orrin Farrell, Ronan Harris, Tadgh Brereton, Shane Nolan, Jack Kelly, Sean Blong, Brendan Lynch, Artis Pastors, Jake Kenny.
Edenderry GAA wish the players and management every success as they look to bring the first piece of silverware to the club in 2013.
We also asked the players to complete an online profile of themselves and some of the responses are below:
