Edenderry U14's started their championship campaign on Friday night with a draw match vs Kilcormac Kiloughey.
This is a game Edenderry felt they should have won but could have just as easily lost in the end due to sloppy mistakes.
Cian Farrell opened the scoring after one minute and in the fourth minute KK pointed from a free. Two points from Shane Nolan gave the reds the lead again but in the eleventh and sixteenth minute KK again pegged them back to a tie game.
Late points from Cian Farrell(2) and one from Ross Glynn gave the reds the upper hand at half time, holding a three point lead.
Half time:
Edenderry 0-6 0-3 Kilcormac/Kiloughey
KK opened the scoring after two minute but a Cian Farrell free restored their three point advantage. A goal in the ninth minute from Cian Farrell appeared to have settled the game but just one minute later KK had a goal of their own which they quickly followed up a point.
Edenderry were now just two points ahead but in the fourteenth minute they conceded a very soft goal and found themselves trailing by a point. Points from Ross Glynn and Shane Nolan put Edenderry back in front but just a minute later KK equalized.
Edenderry again took the lead through a Conor Maher point but KK then scored another goal in the twenty fourth minute.
With only two minutes remaining Cian Farrell scored a free and in the dying seconds Cian again scored another free to level the game and spare Edenderry's blushes.
This is a game Edenderry should have won but conceding poor goals cost them dearly.
Cian Farrell was excellent in front of goals while corner back Jack Brady showed a great pair of hands on several occasions.
