U13 OFFALY FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Edenderry travelled to Tullamore on Thursday last and struggled against a physically superior side. Our team was very young and as it was the first outing in this competition we struggled to get our full panel out. We will be hoping for bigger numbers the next day and a more competitive encounter against Ferbane/Belmont. We are hoping to enter two teams in this competition, with mostly 13 yr olds on the No. 1 team and the younger players on the No. 2 team, therefore its important that as many players as possible attend the games this THURSDAY in Edenderry at 6.30pm.
U13 OFFALY HURLING LEAGUE
Following postponement of the first game against Na Fianna the Reds were keen to field against CRC Gaels in the second game. In fairness to coach Adrian Forde he pushed hard to ensure he would have a side to travel to meet the South Offaly outfit. This was to be an away game for the Reds but getting to Carrig on the Offaly/Tipperary border for 6.30pm on a Monday would not be possible and in fairness to the CRC Gaels club they agreed to meet us half-way and play the game in Killurin GAA just outside Tullamore. Many thanks to Killurin for facilitating this fixture.
CRC Gaels were not as generous on the field and inflicted a heavy defeat on our younger team. CRC have been going well and will play in the U14 ‘B’ Final in a few weeks and will probably be the toughest team our lads will face in this division. The next game is at home to Ballinamere/Durrow on Monday next.
