Under 12 girls match report:
The ladies Under 12 team began their 2014 championship campaign on Monday last against Clara in a well prepared Ballyfore pitch.
The girls have shown great commitment in training since February and having played some warm up games were ready and prepared for their first big outing. Clara started the game in determined fashion but some good defending by the Edenderry girls in particular Sarah Lynch and Alicia Kavanagh kept them at bay. Edenderry began to settle in to the game and a brace of points from our excellent captain Rachel Kelleghan and a super strike to the net from her midfield partner Maria Doyle set the trend for the day and further scores from our two midfielders as well as from forwards Molly Furey, Kellie Oglesby, Aoife Tyrrell and Leah Callan meant the girls finished comfortable winners in the end.
Edenderry played top class football at times with each and every player including substitutes contributing to the victory but they know there are tougher challenges ahead with the traditionally strong St. Rynaghs next on the horizon this weekend
