Edenderry 1-11
Naomh Ciara 2-05
Big well done to our under 12 girls who beat Naomh Ciaran (Ferbane) in their second championship game this year in Edenderry on Saturday.
Edenderry made a blistering start to the game with a quick goal from Maria Doyle and 2 points by excellent midfielder Kellie Oglesby. However the opponents fought their way back and it was level at half time 1-2 each.
Aided by a strong wind Edenderry kicked on in the second half with great scores from Maria, Kellie, Kiah Farrelly and Anna Doyle and despite a late Naomh Ciaran goal ended up winning 1-11 to 2-5.
This was a great game of football and after losing their first game last week this win gets the girls back on track with 3 more tough games to come in the group.
Goalkeeper Sophie Leddin played very sold and the backs were led by superb captain Kiah Farrelly with Shauna Comerford, Amy Lynch and Olivia Craig also excelling. Kellie Oglesby was player of the match from midfield whilst the forwards were led by Maria Doyle with good assistance from Anna Doyle.
Team was Sophie Leddin, Amy Lynch, Ciara Hanley, Olivia Craig, Ava Flynn, Kiah Farrelly (Capt), Shauna Comerford, Maeve O'Grady, Kellie Oglesby, Katie Dunne, Maria Doyle, Elyse Halligan, Zara Rowe, Casey Sheridan, Anne Doyle, Subs all used.
