Today was an important day in the future of the Club. For the first time we brought machinery on to our new lands to carryout some soil investigations. This is the beginning of the future.
You can see all the detail next WEDNESDAY 27th JAN 8pm in the GAA - the club will host a broef presentation incorporating all of our plans that will soon be lodging for planning permission. You should make a big effort to attend. - Young & Old welcome.
On 21st January Richard Hayden of Sports Turf Solutions attended site to investigate the soil conditions of our lands.
The aim was to collect information on ground conditions and establish any potential constraints associated with the development. This critical phase allows Sports Turf Solutions to independently review both sites and develop the following;
SITE A & B
Surface topsoil depth and indicative quantification for re-use
Topsoil review & commentary on quality of topsoil on site (including heaped spoils)
Review pitch positioning & layout options
Pitch costs for development
Timeframe for works
Future maintenance costs
This information will allow the club to move forward with the best solution possible.
Local Machine Operator Noel Gorman was on hand to assist with the digging of the trial holes.
