On Thursday night last we launched the ambitious Strategic Vision & Action Plan for Edenderry GAA Club in our Clubhouse. On the night we were delighted to welcome President Elect of Cumann Luthcleas Gael John Horan, Vice Chairman of the Leinster Council Pat Teehan, Minster Marcella Corcoran Kennedy, Sinn Fein TD Carol Nolan, Fianna Fail TD Barry Cowen along with Local Representatives within the Offaly area.
Our Chairman Willie Forde warmly welcomed everyone on the night and outlined some of the hightlights on the sporting fields during our previous plan. Willie also spoke about coaching and games been a key component which will deliver future success for the club. On the night special praise and thanks was offered to our program lead Colm Cummins pertaining to the club design and plan.
Niall Comerford in his capacity as Chairperson of the Ladies GAA spoke about the benefits of the development and the growth of Ladies Teams within Edenderry GAA. He offered his full support to the “One Club” model that is been developed within the club and the benefits that will bring.
Colm Cummins rolled out ambitious plans to develop modern sporting infrastructure for the whole community, he also thanked the key stake holders that have contributed to the Plan to date. Colm also launched our “Membership Club Red 300” which will be required for ongoing financial support to help deliver this ambitious plan.
On the night our guest of honour President Elect of Cumann Luthcleas Gael John Horan spoke of contribution Edenderry GAA has made within Offaly, he stated that Edenderry had made key decisions over the last few years regarding the future of the Club and complemented Edenderry GAA on its current financial situation.
Other speakers on the night were Offaly county board chairman Tommy Byrne and Vice Chairman of the Leinster Council Pat Teehan, who both spoke about the contribution Colm Cummins has made to the wider GAA Community at County and national level. They both had complementary words to say about the current development and what Edenderry GAA has planned to deliver in the future.
All speakers wished President Elect of Cumann Luthcleas Gael John Horan best wishes when he takes up his role as President within the next year and they all looked forward to what can be achieved under his leadership of Cumann Luthcleas Gael.
Our Chairman finished off the formalities by thanking everyone who came along on the night, especially all our invited Guests, all club sponsors, donor wall members and all you have contributed to the success of the development to date. While recognizing these are ambitious plans, Willie maintained the plan will be delivered and failure is not an option.
