St Brigid's............1-9
Edenderry seniors secured a place in the Division one league semi final as they continue their quest to retain the League title for the first time ever.
Despite the absence of some regulars, the reds stormed into a 0-5 to 0-0 lead after just six minutes with scores from Ciaran Hurley, John Gorman, Keith McGuinness and the returning Derek Kelly (2) who made his first appearance for the reds since last years county final defeat having recovered from injury.
Edenderry played with the wind in the first half and made the most of it. Points from Keith McGuinness, John Gorman, Derek Kelly, Cian Lawton, Ciaran Farrell and Ciaran Hurley brought Edenderry's half time tally to 0-11 while they restricted Croghan to just four points, all free's from centre forward David Egan.
Half time:
Edenderry 0-11
Croghan 0-4
Croghan enjoyed more possession in the second half and scored the first two points of the second half to close the gap to five points. Two scores from Mark Abbott and John Gorman put Edenderry 0-13 to 0-6 ahead but a David Egan goal with eleven minutes remaining made for a nervy finish. However, late points from Cian Lawton and Ciaran Farrell secured a three point win for the reds and guarantees them a top four finish.
