Edenderry.............2-9
Ballycumber..........0-10
Edenderry seniors ended their Ballycumber hoodoo with a five point victory over the 2011 League champions on Tuesday night in Ballycumber. The reds have struggled away from home against Ballycumber in recent years but goals from Keith McGuinness and John Gorman in each half secured the win on the night.
The reds trailed 0-3 0-2 after twenty minutes with points coming from Richie Dalton and Ciaran Farrell but Keith McGuinness was on the end of the a great move by Edenderry and palmed Derek Kelly's fist pass to the back of the net. Two points from Derek Kelly gave Edenderry a 1-4 0-5 lead at the half time break.
Edenderry only managed one point in the opening fourteen minutes of the second half courtesy of Derek Kelly and at one point Ballycumber had leveled the game at 1-5 0-8. Ciaran Farrell, John Gorman and Oran Lawton kick a point each in the space of four minutes to put Edenderry three points to the good before a John Gorman goal with eight minutes remaining secured the brace of points for the current Division one league champions.
A late point from centre forward Ciaran Farrell rounded off a good nights work for the reds and they will finish the group stages of the campaign on Tuesday June 2nd at home to Rhode at 8pm.
Edenderry had qualified for the semi final following last weeks victory over St Brigid's of Croghan.
