Edenderry............3-7
Tubber.................3-7
Edenderry senior footballers drew with Tubber on Saturday afternoon in Edenderry in maintain their unbeaten start to 2015.
The reds fielded a very young team but in the end they were thankful to veteran forward Keith McGuinness as he punched over the final score of the game with six minutes left to level the tie and give both sides a share of the spoils.
Both sides had great opportunities throughout the game and Tubber had the chance to win the game with a '45 in stoppage time but their effort fell short of the target. Edenderry will also feel as if they could and should have won this game and they were particularly aggrieved when they had a perfectly legitimate goal ruled out for a square ball, despite the rule been done away with several years ago now.
Edenderry held a 2-3 1-3 lead with the twenty six minutes gone in the first half with scores coming from Keith McGuinness (1-1), Stephen Abbott (1-0), Sean Doyle (0-1) and Alex Kenny (0-1) but 1-2 in the final three minutes gave Tubber a 2-5 2-3 lead at the break.
Withing three minutes of the restart, Edenderry were back on level pegging as Alex Kenny kicked two terrific scores from distance. Three minutes later the reds moved into 3-5 2-5 lead when Jamie Dolan was on the end of a great Edenderry move and he coolly slotted home the reds third goal.
Tubber eventually regained the lead in the forty second minute with their third goal but Keith McGuinness's fisted score with six minutes remaining ensured Edenderry maintained their unbeaten run.
Edenderry will now play Tullamore in round four in on March 8th at home.
