Seniors advance to league final

Division 1 league semi final:

Edenderry 1-14 2-7 Clara

Edenderry senior footballers reached their first league final since 2011 when they overcame Clara by four points in Croghan on Sunday morning. The reds held a 0-10 to 1-4 lead at half time with points coming from Sean Doyle(4), Richie Dalton(2), Colm Byrne, Sean Moriarty, Derek Kelly and Mark Young with one each.

Points from Sean Doyle and Aaron McDonald extended Edenderry's lead early in the second half and a goal six minutes after the restart fired Edenderry into a 1-12 1-5 lead. Richie Dalton and Oran Lawton registered a point each before a late goal two minutes from time reduced the deficit to four.

Edenderry will now take on Tullamore in the league final and the game is provisionally scheduled for the weekend of July 12/13th.
