The Division one senior league semi final will take place this Sunday morning at Noon in Croghan when the reds take on table toppers Clara. Peter Brady's young side were beaten in last years semi final against Rhode and they will be hoping to go one step further this time around and reach the league final for the first time since 2011.
Amazingly, the reds have only won the Division 1 league title on two occasions throughout their one hundred and twenty three year history with their first win coming in 1984 and their last win coming in the very memorable 1997 campaign.
With the senior football championship still 3-4 weeks away, this will be ideal preparation. Edenderry will have to do without the services of Offaly senior footballer Ciaran Hurley who will miss the next few months through injury while Daniel Nolan and Basil Malone are also set to miss out. Stephen Guing remains a long term absentee and the Offaly minor contingent are not allowed play due to Offaly's Leinster semi final clash against Dublin on July 9th.
Everyone in Edenderry GAA would like to wish all the players and management the best of luck on Sunday.
Ballycumber take on Tullamore in the other semi final.
