Edenderry Senior ladies bowed out of the league at the semi-final stage on Friday evening last away to arch rivals Rhode. This was a hard fought game with many of the younger members of the panel making a great impact on the game in particular wing back Shannon Farrell. Edenderry went in at the break with it all to do in the second half trailing by four points 1-2 to 3-3.
Riona Byrne was unable to restart the second half due to a knock on the head and soon after Edenderry were dealt another blow when Aisling O’Connor had to be replaced due to an ankle injury. Edenderry fought hard and never game up. All five substitutes made a great impression when introduced. Rhode ran out winners in the end on a scoreline to 4-8 to 3-5.
Training continues this Tuesday evening at 6.30pm in the Vocational School field.
