Edenderry played a challenge match on Saturday evening in Edenderry against Kinnegad. After a good run out it was Kinnegad who came out on top by nine points.
Kinnegad made the better start to the game and after seven minutes had raced into a three point lead. Edenderry hit back with a Ciaran Hurley free after a foul on Keith McGuinness. Kinnegad responded straight away with a point and on the seventeenth minute two further points stretched their lead to five points. Colm Byrne pointed for the reds before Stuart Cullen halved the defecit after some great play from Keith McGuinness.
Edenderry got their fourth point of the game when Basil Malone sent a great ball into Stuart Cullen who layed it off to oncoming Colm Byrne who sent the ball straight over the bar. Kinnegad kicked two more points just before half time but it was Ciaran Hurley who had the final say of the first half when he pointed a free after Basil Malone had been fouled.

Edenderry opened the scoring in the second half after two minutes when Keith McGuinness pointed after a pass from Colm Byrne. Kinnegad hit back immediately but Keith McGuinness soon cancelled it out with his second of the game after a some good work from David Farrelly. There was just two points between the sides but in a two minute spell Kinnegad kick four points and stretched their lead to six points. Ciaran Hurley pointed again from a free after Martin Keogh was fouled.
Kinnegad then scored 1-1 before points from Keith McGuinness, Dan Nolan and Sean Doyle reduced the deficit. Ciaran Hurley and Sean Doyle scored two mote points but Kinnegad scored a their second goal just approaching injury time to give them a nine point win.
