Ó Choiste agus ó bhaill Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Éadan Doire. Is oth linn bás Thomas O'Connell agus déanaimid comhbhrón lena theaghlach.
The Club was saddened to hear of the passing of Thomas O'Connell a former Red that hurled for Club & County and also kicked some football.
Thomas was an integral part of the 1960's hurling teams that brought the Reds storming back to the Senior ranks in Offaly. He was part of the teams that won a Junior Hurling Championship in 1962 and the Intermediate the following year in 1963 to bring Edenderry to Senior level in 1964. It was during this period that Thomas hurled with Offaly Intermediates in the Leinster Championship.
He also kicked the big ball and was a valued member of the club and supporter following his playing days. Thomas also involved himself at Committee level and served in various roles including Vice-Chairman and Joint-Secretary (1971).
Like many local business men he was very generous to the club over the years and this was much appreciated by one and all.
