The Club was very sad to hear of the passing of former Red and Offaly Star Pat ‘PC’ Cullen. On behalf of the club we wish to extend our deepest sympathies to all of the Cullen family. Pat played for the Reds throughout youth winning an U16 Championship in 1959 before lining out with the Reds in the Minor Championship in 1960 & 1961. Paddy played for the Seniors throughout the 1960’s and represented his County at Senior level on 9 occasions. From 1964 to 1966 Paddy played eight league games and one Championship Match for Offaly. On 2nd May 1965 he played No. 5 for Offaly in the Leinster Football Senior Championship Vs. Longford in Mullingar, only to be beaten 1-5 to 0-5. He continued to play for the Reds following his Offaly career and was part of the travelling party to Birmingham in 1968 that took on local side Erin Go Breagh. After his playing days he was a greater supporter of the Reds and Offaly.
