John Foran of Emeral Pitch Developments has moved in to commence necessary maintainence works on the main pitch. Due to the high volume of increased playing traffic on the main pitch it is in bad need of some TLC.
The works will include minor drainage works to improve problem areas, aereation, spiking, sanding and seeding. In addition the goalmouth areas will be re-sodded.
Sand spreading helps to promote drainage, root development and achieve better results for wet weather play. Verti drainage, with its unique action and extra deep penetration, provides the solution to problems such as compaction, bad drainage and poor grass cover.
Over seeding involves the placing of seed precisely where it is required. Emerald use the Moore Drill which enables seed to be stitched into a pitch while causing minimal disturbance to the existing grasses.
We ask our members to be patient over the coming days as the pitch will be out of action for just a few days as the works are completed.
The works when combined with the recently purchased dug-outs represent a substantial investment in our grounds over the early months of the year, however the benefits will not be seen until later in the summer.
