Former Manchester United footballer and world renowned Edenderry GAA supporter Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had his drivers licence revoked following a disastrous spell 'At the Wheel' over the last two months.
The 46 year old Norwegian appeared at a special sitting of the district court on Monday morning charged with steering his club in the wrong direction and driving with four flat tyres on at least six occasions over the past eight weeks, most recently on Sunday in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
Judge Keith McDonnell from Birkenhead reportedly said "It pains me to revoke your licence as I truly hope you stay at the wheel for the next few years".
Speaking as character witnesses on behalf of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were Edenderry footballers Jamie Dolan, Sean Doyle, Adam Mahon, Jack Guing and Derek Kelly. The young reds begged Judge Keith McDonnell to let Mr Solskjaer keep his licence as it served in the public's best interest while Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba was due to make a statement but arrived four hours late having walked to the Court House.
Mr Pogba's publicist defended the France international declaring "Paul doesn't run for anybody, if the court weren't willing to wait for him then so be it".
