Offaly defeat Westmeath in O'Byrne cup

Offaly seniors started life under Gerry Cooney with an eight point win over Westmeath in the first round of the O'Byrne cup in O'Connor Park on Sunday. Representing Edenderry on the day was Richie Dalton, Sean Pender and Derek Kelly who made his debut as a late substitute.

Also congratulations to Richie Dalton who was made captain, the first Edenderry man to captain the faithful county since Finbarr Cullen in the late 90's.
