MFC:
Edenderry 4-4 3-13 Ferbane.................
Edenderry minors bowed out of the championship on Wednesday night after a six point defeat to Ferbane. Despite the game been played in horrendous weather conditions, it was actually one of the more enjoyable games played in Edenderry this year.
Ferbane were overwhelming favourites and after eleven minutes they held a three point to no score lead. Aaron O'Connell registered the reds first score of the game after fourteen minutes but just a minute later Ferbane had the ball in the net.
Sean Moriarty pulled one back for the home side but in the twenty first minute Ferbane pointed to leave the score 1-4 to 0-2. A goal from Alex Kenny and a point from Oran Lawton left just one between the sides with twenty five minutes gone but in the twenty seventh minute Ferbane pointed and just two minutes later they scored their second goal.
Credit to Edenderry they didn't give up and a fortunate goal from Sean Moriarty in the thirtieth minute left just two between them but Ferbane again pointed twice more in injury time.
Half Time:
Edenderry 2-3 2-7 Ferbane...
Ferbane pointed their seventh of the game after just eight seconds but Edenderry kept up the pressure with an Alex Kenny point in the fifth minute. Two minutes later the reds once again shot themselves in the foot by conceding another soft goal. However, straight from the kick-out Edenderry won possession and Ciaran Farrell's deflected shot found it's way to the back of the Ferbane net to leave four between the sides.
Ferbane pointed in the thirteenth and eighteenth minute to put six between the sides but a Ciaran Farrell penalty reduced the deficit to three with eleven minutes to go. Unfortunately for the reds that would be their final score of the game as Ferbane added three late points to leave a margin of six at full time.
Full Time:

In truth, Ferbane were a far superior side but Edenderry battled very hard on the day and in terrible weather conditions.
The club would like to thank the management team for all their work throughout the year.
