David Maloney - having a super year with Club & County

The EDEN CLAIMS Sponsored Minor Football Team will line put against Ferbane/Belmont this Saturday at 2.30pm in O'Connor Park Tullamore. It will be Edenderry's 5th Final in 8 years and following defeats already this year in the U21 and Senior Finals our lads will be looking to make amends.

Edenderry go in search of their 11th Title at this grade having won it previously in;

• • 1938, 1951, 1965, 1969, 1970, 1980, 1981, 1985, 1997, 2007

Recent defeats in 2008, 2011 & 2013 should inspire this years group to go one further.

A team that has been well guided by John Mason, Robbie Glennon and Stephen Guing have grown in confidence as the year has progressed. Following some character building performances the team put in one of the performances of the year in the semi-final win over Clara. Notwithstanding the fine performance again Clara, there are no prizes for winning the semi-final. Some of the squad has tasted defeat all too often, particularly within the last year – beaten in one Minor Final, two U21 Finals and a Senior Final. Therefore, they will be out to make amends on Saturday.
