St Manchan Gaels...........0-8
Edenderry........................3-14
Edenderry minor footballers maintained their 100% record in the championship with a comfortable win over St Manchan Gaels in Pollough on Wednesday night. The reds held the lead throughout the first half with five points from Cian Farrell and two from Shane Cummins, the half time scoring reading 0-7 0-3.
A point from Darren Quinn and two for St Manchan Gaels at the start of the second half reduced the gap to 0-8 0-5 but a goal from Conor McCarthy fired the reds into a six point lead. St Manchan's responded with a point but U16 star Ruairi Egan netted his fourth goal this week (3 for the U16's on Monday night) to put the reds 2-8 0-6 to the good.
Cian Farrell hit three points in a row, one '45, one free and one from play to put Edenderry 2-11 0-8 ahead and a fantastic second goal for Conor McCarthy secured the two points for the reds. Further scores from Cian Farrell, Cathal Farrell and Brian Clarke wrapped up a great nights work for our footballers as they continue their bid to win the St Mary's cup they last won in 2007.
