On Saturday last the 5th annual March Of The Reds took place, this is now one of the most looked forward to days on the club calendar each year as it is a day that is always one of the most enjoyable of the year.
The day started of with a bucket collection on the Main Street of the town which was greatly supported by all the passers ,thanks to all who contributed.
It was then the most important part of the day; the parade from the church grounds to the club grounds. With a huge ground gathering early this was easily going to be our biggest parade. The rain passed over and the parade got going after Fr PJ said a few kind words to all. The club would like to thank Fr PJ for the kind words and the use of the church grounds again.
The parade went though the town making lots of noise and was well received by all passing cars and by all on the Main Street. It was then onto the field day which had been planned, the kids took part in a sports day with lots of races, fun races , long jumps and the cross bar challenge to mention a few. Also there was kids bingo, bouncing castles, face painting, BBQ and lots more on the day.
The music on the day was provided by local lad Mark O'Neill and he was really well received as he hit the Note !! with all in attendance . The weather may not have been as good as other years but the atmosphere was as good and if not better than other years. Club Chairman thanked all the parents and kids for supporting the event and all who had helped out in making the day happen. Willie also gave some details about the upcoming development plans the club are working on. So it's on to next year and we plan to go bigger and better next year , So watch out for the date.
