Edenderry............3-12
Cappincur............1-11
Edenderry senior footballers made it two wins from two with a seven point win over Cappincur in Clonbullogue on Wednesday evening.
The opening ten minutes saw both sides trade four points each but in the twenty second minute a point from Cian Farrell gave the reds the lead for the first time in the game. A free from Sean Doyle extended that lead but Cappincur responded with a point from Brian Norris.
Keith McGuinness, who was captain in Colm Byrne's absence, added his second point of the game in the twenty sixth minute and just on the stroke of half time a goal from wing back Ciaran 'Gazza' Farrell put the reds into a five point lead.
Half time: Edenderry 1-8 0-6 Cappincur
Cappincur dominated the opening fifteen minute of the second half and hit 1-3 without reply as they took a one point lead. The reds eventually got going with Richie Dalton, Stephen Guing and Adam Mahon to the fore leading the reds back into the game. Points from Alex Kenny, Jordan Hayes and Cian Farrell put Edenderry back in front 1-11 to 1-9 before an Alex Kenny goal seven minutes from time looked to have secured the win.
A late goal from Sean Doyle and a point from Jordan Hayes sealed a seven point win.
