Edenderry Senior and Minor Ladies teams are commencing their indoor training season this coming Monday Feb 13th at 8.00 pm in St Mary’s Secondary School Hall under the guidance of new manager Willie Kelly and his team of Melissa Smith, Helen Carroll and Carmel Byrne. The ladies last held the county title in 2010 (a year in which they also won the Leinster title) and hope to win back the trophy this year after losing last year’s final to neighbours Rhode. The first league game is due to be played on Sunday February 26th at 1.00 versus Rhode whilst the championship kicks off also against Rhode in early July. We wish Willie and all the girls the very best for the season.
The Under 14 and Under 16 teams under the guidance of Gabriel Gorman, Ronan Kavanagh and Sandra Blong are also back training this week for the coming season which we hope will be another successful one. Training will be every Monday and Thursday evenings at 7.00 in the GAA field for both teams. The Under 16 team are aiming for a three in a row this under after winning the county title for the past 2 years and we wish them the very best of luck in what would be a fantastic achievement for this bunch of talented young girls. The Under 14 team also have a big year ahead as the Feile competition is being held in Laois/Offaly this year so best wishes to them also.
Reminder that Underage Nursery Training continues each Friday evening in the Secondary School Hall and all girls in the area are welcome to attend with numbers attending growing each week. The Under 12 girls (those born in 2000 and 2001) train from 5.00 until 6.00pm with the under 10s and under 8s (those born in the years 2002 to 2006) training from 6.00 until 7.00 pm. There is a charge of €2 per session to cover the rent of the hall.
