Juniors Lose to Kilclonfert

JUNIOR ‘A’ FOOTBALL LEAGUE

The JV BYRNE sponsored Junior ‘A’ Team played their 7^th game in the league on Saturday evening last. With the Hurlers playing in Kinnitty the same evening the team was under strength but they put up very brave fight against a strong Intermediate side. The performance was even more impressive when its taken into account that they played the majority of the game with 14 men.

Despite leaking 4 goals the Edenderry defence played very well with David Farrelly and Johnny Hurst rolling back the years and commanding the middle section. Johnny Blong, Andrew Forde and Padraig Foy worked well along side James Pollard.

Aaron McDonnell and James Mackey worked tirelessly in midfield and won a huge amount of possession that created a platform for each Edenderry attack. Dan Ryan, John Gorman and Jamie Dolan showed well and took scores at every opportunity. Lee Hyland and Jason Farrell worked extremely hard and tracked back to cover the extra man.

Championship this Friday for the lads and a win over Gracefield will bring this team on.
