Junior 'B' hurling championship:
Seir Keiran.........1-10
Edenderry...........3-17
Edenderry's return to the adult ranks of Offaly hurling couldn't have went any better when the reds overcame Seir Keiran in Clareen on Monday evening.
Twelve of the starting fifteen were making their adult hurling debuts for Edenderry with the three Hanlon brothers the only surviving members of the side that reached the 2013 county final.
It was an encouraging display from the young reds with Offaly senior footballer Cian Farrell scoring 2-2 in the opening half and captain David Hanlon bagging the third Edenderry goal. The reds held a 3-6 0-7 lead at half time and ran out comfortable thirteen point winners in the end.
Edenderry face Ballinamere in the second round of the championship at 5pm on August 15th.
