Edenderry 3-13 0-10 Tullamore.......................................................
Edenderry hurlers claimed two valuable points in their bid to reach the knockout stages of the junior hurling championship on Tuesday with a twelve point win over Tullamore in Edenderry.
Eoghan Kelly(1-2), Cillian Farrell(0-6) and dual star David 'Rodge' Hanlon(2-2) where the scorers in chief for the reds and they have now recorded two wins in three games.
The reds raced into a three point lead after just four minutes with scores coming from Cillian Farrell(2) and David Hanlon. Tullamore responded with their first point of the game but two further points from Cillian Farrell after eight minutes stretched Edenderry's lead to four points. A Minute later Eoghan Kelly registered his first of two points and in the twelfth minute it was Eoghan Kelly who shot superbly to the back of the net to give Edenderry a comfortable 1-6 0-1 lead.
Tullamore added three more points in the thirteenth and and two in the eighteenth minute to reduce the gap to five points but Eoghan Kelly pointed in the twenty second minute to restore a six point lead. Tullamore controlled the final five minutes and pointed three points while Edenderry added a score from corner back Stephen Murphy.

It was Tullamore who opened the second half scoring in the fourth minute but that would prove to be their last score for over nineteen minutes. Martin Keogh pointed cancelled out that score a minute later and in the thirteenth minute David 'Rodge' Hanlon scored the first of his two goals.
Edenderry now held a seven point lead and further scores from Cillian Farrell(2) and Shane Connell stretched their lead to ten. In the twenty third and twenty fifth minute Tullamore registered another two points but a point and a great goal from David 'Rodge' Hanlon in the twenty eight minute ensured a comfortable win for the reds.

The Edenderry management will be very pleased with this win and it leaves them on course to reach the knockout stages. On the night best for Edenderry were Stephen Murphy, David Hanlon, Eoghan Kelly, Cillian Farrell while in the second half John Greene, now operating at full back, was immense.
