The Annual Fr McWey League for U8 & U10 boys and girls started on Mon 20th of June with the parade from Fr Mcwey St to Edenderry GAA followed by the Round 1 games.

Over 120 children took part in the parade and games. The large attendance were treated to some excellent displays of football from all the children as they displayed the range of skills they learned over the past few months.

Round 2 of the League was played on Mon 27th June with another large turnout of players and parents alike. The games produced some excellent football and some nailbiting finishes with 3 games ending in a draw and one game being won by a single point.

Round 3 played on Monday 4th July again produced some excellent football with draws, tight games won by a single point and some excellent scores. The standard of play is very high and each child is showing the benefits of their coaching sessions.

Round 4 played on Mon 11th July was well attended and produced some wonderful football as we again witnessed two draws and one game ending with just a point between the teams. All the games are an excellent opportunity for all the players to show the improvements they have made and with every child guaranteed a part of the action in these small sided games the league is again a huge success for the club.
The League continues each Monday night with U8 games commencing at 7pm and U10 following at 7.30pm.
