The Final Session of CÚL REDZ for 2011 took place on Saturday last and following a fantastic summer and 17 sessions the final one was disrupted by rain. However the numbers were still up and each child received their very own CÚL REDZ Certificate to acknowledge completion of the Clubs first Coaching Nursery Programme.
The Club are delighted with the response to the initiative and over the summer months 206 different children, boys and girls were coached. This represents approx. 40% of the total children available in the parish for the age group 5-8 years old.
The Club will use the winter months to further educate our coaching staff and the programme will return in late spring bigger and better than this year.
The club wish to thank all of the children for taking part, the parents for their continuous encouragement, the coaches and officers of Edenderry GAA and finally Pat Cullen for having the pitch in top condition every Saturday.
The Club will be examining the possibility of expanding the programme to include U10 and U12 and this will form part of our drive to improve games development in Offaly and push the introduction of Go Games across the County.
For the children, remember to keep plasticising and remember you are a CÚL RED!!!
Ps. The CÚL REDZ gave an half time exhibition during the IFC Semi Final played in Edenderry on Sun Oct. 2, the players and coaches did the programme proud.
