The Club will be providing 'Coaching on the Green' in Boyne Meadows (Sat. 20th Apr) and The Sycamores (Sat. 27th Apr) to showcase what is on offer for children in Edenderry GAA throughout the Summer of 2013. It will also be an opportunity for new members our our community to come and try out our games in a relaxed and fun environment.
Saturday 20th April - 10.30 - 12.00 - Green Area Boyne Meadows
Saturday 27th April - 10.30 - 12.00 - Green Area The Sycamores
We are hoping that children from the Estates and surrounding area will come along and join in the fun. Our regular CUL REDZ from other locations in town are welcome to come along and part-take also.
Our CÚL REDZ Coaching Nursery will then commence in the first week of May. Saturday for Football and Thursday for Hurling. The programme is delivered by a group of club coaches including some of our Senior players and occasionally some our County Stars drop in to help out.
Our nursery concentrates and is delivered through the GAA ABC/Have a Ball Nursery Programme, It involves a series of fun based exercises to develop movement skills for children aged 4-8 years old. These skills form the basis for the later development of the specific skills of hurling and Gaelic Football. The level of competency with which one can perform these skills is referred to as their level of physical literacy.
