Edenderry Ladies Gaelic Football
Edenderry Ladies GAA Under 10 team kicked off their 2013 with their first game in the Offaly under 10 summer league. The format is played under the Go Games principle with emphasis on participation and development. The girls have been training hard since they started indoors on Feb 1st last and were delighted to eventually get on to the field of play. The game was away against local rivals Rhode on Thursday last and we have a panel of 17 enthusiastic girls raring to go. The game was played in wet conditions but each and every player applied themselves brilliantly and will gain in confidence as the year progresses. The panel of players on the evening was as follows: Casey Sheridan, Jessie Sheridan, Katie Dunne, Amy Lynch, Niamh Flynn, Shauna Comerford, Jenna Comerford, Kiah Farrelly, Maria Doyle, Zara Rowe, Kellie Oglesby, Sophie Clancy, Ellie Maher, Clodagh Farrell, Olivia Craig, Ava Flynn, Elyse Halligan.
Cumann na mBunscoil Hurling Final
Edenderry Boy's National School will take on Ballinamere in the Cumann na mBunscoil Hurling Finals on Wed 15th May in O'Connor Park at 2pm.
This will be the third final in a row for the Boys School and this is a testament to the excellent work being done in the school by teacher Mr Ger Ryan.
Edenderry GAA wish the team and Mr Ryan every success in the final.
All support in O'Connor Park would be much appreciated by the school and players.
Junior A Hurling Championship
Edenderry 0-07
Seir Kieran 2-11
Edenderry Junior Hurlers began their 2013 Championship on Sunday morning with a long trip to Rath to take on Seir Kieran in the Junior A Champonship.
Seir Kieran proved too strong for the Reds team to handle and they came away the wrong side of a 10 point margin.
Edenderry will have further games in which to recover however improvements will need to be made if they are to reach the knock out stage of the championship.
