Breaking news...........
Former Edenderry senior football captain Colm Byrne confirmed to club officials on Sunday evening that he intends to stay in Canada for 2020 amid recent Liverpool FC success.
A regular gym bunny in his day, 31 year old Byrne left Irish shores in January 2019 and the two time Dowling cup winner has said it's very unlikely he will return to Edenderry while Liverpool are doing well as his beloved Manchester Utd continue to get progressively worse with each passing week.
Posting to his Instagram account, Byrne stated "It's with deep sadness I can confirm I will be staying in Canada for 2020. I really long to wear the red jersey again and I'm hopeful I can do someday but now is not the time. To be perfectly honest, I shudder at the thought of arriving to training and having to listen to Keith McGuinness, Brian Quinlan, Jamie Dolan, Rodge, Adam Mahon, Sean Doyle and the likes crowing on about Liverpool. If the unthinkable does happen next May I will try to arrange transfers to Toronto Gaels for the likes of Gazza and Alex. Thank you".
When asked for comment, club Chairman Keith McGuinness said "I never realised he was gone to be honest. Best of luck in Canada Colm".
