A Match programme from the 1961 Offaly V Kildare Leinster Semi Final game was discovered recently in the home of Carbury man Michael Ennis.
The game took place in Portlaoise on 2nd July 1961.
Michael has kindly passed the programme on to Ciaran Reilly & Padraig Foy to assist them in their production of a book on the Offaly team of 1960-61.
Although 50 years old the programme is still in good condition. Edenderry men named on the Offaly team that day were Mick Brady & Tommy Cullen with Christy Carroll among the subs.
The minor team is listed at the bottom of the page.
For the record Offaly beat Kildare 3-09 to 0-06 to qualify for the Leinster Final in which they beat Dublin. They then defeated Roscommon before losing the All Ireland Final to Down in front of a record attendance at Croke Park of over 90,000 people.
