Broughans started the second half with great intensity and pointed after one minute. In the seventh minute they extended their lead to seven points. It took Edenderry until the eleventh minute to register a score and it came through an Alex Kenny free after a foul on the impressive Adam Mahon. Once again Edenderry were caught napping and St Broughans took advantage scoring their third goal of the game after fourteen minutes. In the sixteenth minute Aaron McDonnell, not operating at full forward, won a free. Aaron took a quick free and managed to score a goal. This seemed to spark Edenderry into life and just two minutes later Aaron McDonnell converted a penalty after a foul on Adam Mahon to leave just three points between the sides.
However despite their pressure Edenderry didn’t manage to score again until the last minute and in the mean time St Broughans had kicked three points to give them a six point lead. In the thirtieth minute Aaron McDonnell won another penalty and once again slotted it away. In the third minute of added on time Alex Kenny pointed from a free to leave two points between the sides but the final whistle blew from the resulting kick out.

Edenderry U16’s crashed to another defeat, this time at the hands of St Broughans on Monday evening in Clonbullogue. Despite the two point margin at the finish, St Broughans were the far superior, more focused team. Edenderry only performed for the last fifteen minutes after an extremely lazy and lack lustre effort in the first half.
There was just thirty seconds on the clock when St Broughans kicked their first score and the quickly followed it up with two more after three minutes. In the fifth minute Edenderry got their first score when Leslie Nolan pointed after some good work from Oran Lawton. Ciaran Farrell pointed a minute later for the reds to reduce the deficit to the minimum but it would be their last score for twelve minutes. St Broughans added two further points in that space of time and led 0-5 0-2 before Ciaran Farrell pointed a free for Edenderry after a foul on Adam Mahon. For all of Broughans possession they only held a two point lead with eight minutes remaining in the first half but some poor play from Edenderry allowed Broughans in for a goal. Jamie Dolan pointed a minute later for Edenderry but once again Broughans got through for a goal and extended their lead to seven points. Alex Kenny pointed a free for Edenderry after a foul on Oran Lawton and in the last minute of the half Leslie Nolan reduced the deficit to five points.
