Senior Championship V Clara Monday  13-08-2012

Edenderry Senior Ladies continued their championship campaign with a hard fought win away to Clara on Monday night last. Edenderry struggled in the opening period to come to terms with a very physical youthful Clara side.  Elisha Hunston opened the scoring for the Edenderry ladies after 2 minutes with a point from a free. Clara were rampant in the first half showing great support play and found the back of the net with two well taken goals. Elisha Hunston kept Edenderry in the game kicking five first half points

Edenderry began the second period in much more determined fashion. The midfield pairing of Christine McDonnell and Roisin Hurley began to dominate play setting up attack after attack with some fine points coming from the boots of Christine McDonnell, Ciara Brady, Shannon Farrell, Elisha Hunston, Kim Murphy and Roisin Hurley. Clara scored a late consolation goal to leave the final score

Edenderry 0-16     Clara  2-6

This was a good second half  performance by the Edenderry girls with great displays of football from Aoife O’Neill, Carol Fitzpatrick, Shannon Farrell, Christine McDonnell, Roisin Hurley, Elisha Hunston and Ciara Brady.  This win leaves Edenderry with a semi-final outing against neighbours Rhode.
