Senior ladies Kick off league campaign

Our Senior ladies team kicked off their season on Sunday morning last with an away league fixture against near neighbours and county champions Rhode in a well prepared Croghan pitch. This was the girls’ first game of the year and having just recently returned to training there was a lot of cobwebs to shake off. Edenderry were missing quite a number of regulars which gave some fringe players a chance to shine but after a bright start from our girls Rhode’s superior fitness eventually shone through and Rhode ran out convincing winners in the end. On the day Edenderry were best served by Janet Kelly, Carol Fitzpatrick, Shannon Farrell and Tina McNamee. Training resumes on Monday nights at 8.00 in the secondary hall. The girls’ next league fixture is next Sunday away against DSB.

Offaly Ladies Minor Team.

The Offaly Ladies minor team managed by Edenderry’s Greg Farrelly played the first round of their Leinster championship on Sunday last against Dublin. Despite a gallant effort on the Faithful girls part Dublin proved that little bit stronger on the day and ran out winners in the end. The girls have another 3 games to play in the round robin series so there is still plenty to play for and we wish them well. Edenderry had a strong representation on the panel with Kym Furey, Laura McCormack, Ciara Brady, and Shauna Farrelly whilst Orla Kelly, Kim Murphy and Danielle Kavanagh were unable to play due to injury.

Get well soon girls:

The ladies club would like to wish Danielle Kavanagh and Kim Murphy best wishes as they recover from their recent appendix and tonsils illness respectively. Both girls are amongst our brightest underage stars and we hope to see them back in the field very soon.

Training Schedule:

Our Girls Nursery Training had to be cancelled at short notice last week (apologies to all parents) but will recommence this Friday February March 3rd from 5.00 to 6.00pm for Under 12s (girls born in 2000 and 2001) and from 6.00 to 7.00pm for all girls Under 10 (born in the years 2002-2006).

The Ladies under 14 and 16 teams are also training on Monday from 7.00-8.00pm and Wednesday at 8.30-9.30pm (indoors).
