In a wide and varied role, Mairead is tasked with promoting Gaelic Games in Edenderry, including all local schools.

It consistent with best practice nationally but tailored to the 'Edenderry Way'.  It is a staged approach that maps a players journey throughout their development.

Edenderry GAA Coaching Assessment Booklets

Skills Assessments
Developed by our GPO in conjunction with Offaly & Leinster GAA these Assessment Booklets designed to measure a players progress through the stages of the Player Pathway.

Consistent with the targets of the Player Pathway it guides the coach through the process of regular assessment and also encourages the player to practice the skills at home.

A major element of the work of our GPO, Mairead, focuses on coaching within the Primary Schools.

By following the staged approach of the player pathway Mairead ensures that the children receives the fundamentals of Gaelic Games Coaching that is consistent with what they will encounter at the club.

CÚL REDZ Coaching Nursery

CÚL REDZ Coaching Nursery
Established in 2011, our CUL REDZ Coaching Nursery has become synonymous with Edenderry GAA.

The programme provides and fun and exciting introduction to the family of Gaelic Games.  

It's indoor through the winter months and continues outdoors in the Summer and is a core element of the work of our GPO.

GAA Go Games - Every Child Gets a Go!

Go Games
GAA Go Games are small-sided games with modified rules in both Hurling (Go Hurling) and Gaelic Football (Go Gaelic). They form a central element of GAA policy on games for children up to and including the Under-12 age grade.

This success format where every child is involved ensures that no players are sitting on the sidelines.

Our Games, Our Code - Maintaining Appropriate Levels of Behaviour

Child Welfare & Protection
Maintaining Appropriate Levels of Behaviour in our Work with Children & Young People complements Sport Ireland Code of Ethics and the Code of Behaviour (Underage), the joint Code of Best Practice in Youth Sport and addresses the appropriate levels of behaviour, practice and conduct required from our young players, officials, coaches, trainers, mentors, supporters, parents/guardians and clubs.
